Charmed Creations offers a large array of services for all occasions and photographic needs! In being such, we have provided some general information regarding our session and the best practices to prepare for your session and to get the most out of our time together.
What to Wear

New Born: A wide variety of props are available. If you have something special you would like in the shoot, let me know and we will work it in. Preference is to shoot with as few garments as possible. Limit outfit changes to one. Babies do not respond well to being changed.

Children: Casual or ‘Sunday Best’. Special props and toys are welcome, scarfs, hats, vests, and bows. The simpler the better to keep focus on your child. Well rested children with happy tummies make the best models. Recommended parents bring a non-messy snack to be used if needed.
Adults and Families: Casual is limitless. Bright stripes and colorful prints are distracting. Choose one solid hue that complements your eye color. Dark colored clothing works well as it adds a slimming effect. Avoid very light colors. Keep make-up and hair styles simple. V-neck and open collars elongate the neck and body and flatter your face. Choose sleek, close fitting clothes, not over baggy. Dress family members in complementary colors.
Location

Children and Family Portraits: The great outdoors works best – parks, gardens, yards, streams, railroad tracks – the choices are limitless
New Born: In home, outside weather permitting. To capture the ‘new born’ look it is recommended session take place within ten days of making their grand entrance into your lives.
Time of Day

Early morning and late afternoons work best for outdoor shoots. Be mindful of nap and feeding schedules for young children being photographed. In-home shoot times are flexible.
Tips & Warnings

• Do not have your hair cut the day of a portrait. Schedule hair appointments at least a week in advance to create a more natural look in the portrait.
• Cover your arms with long sleeves or a jacket--bare arms are a distraction in a portrait because it draws the eye away from the face.
• Keep jewelry simple.
• Any clothing with writing, large graphics and bold designs are discouraged for a portrait.
• If you wear glasses, be prepared to remove them during the photograph session. Glasses do not photograph well in a portrait.
• Have your clothes washed and pressed to prevent unsightly wrinkles from appearing in the portrait.
